About S. C. Versillee

Biography

I’ve been a practicing artist for over 20 years. My affinity for creativity was given to me by my mother–an artist, writer, and teacher. Art worked an edacious root deep into my marrow starting in early childhood, and has remained with me as a type of meditative practice throughout my life. It’s also been a means to exert tactile control over aspect of my existence during periods where I had less agency over the world around me.

The primary subjects of my work include humans, animals, and organic abstracts. My favorite medium is oil paint, however, as a mixed-media artist I also work in wood, metal, acrylic, and digital art. I’ve had the pleasure of being invited to contribute to various museum and public art projects and my work has been juried into several national fine art exhibitions including the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club and the National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society’s “Best in America.”

My small, medium, and large-scale works have been collected by a range of buyers including private collectors, corporations, and non-profits throughout the United States and abroad. If you’re an art collector interested in purchasing my work, join my Addicted to Detail Art Collectors List to receive advance alerts about new releases.
